Jackson County accommodations are as diverse as the area itself. They range from full-service resorts and historic country inns to charming B&Bs and a variety of quaint mountain cottages.

There are two well-known resorts in the Cashiers area. Sapphire Valley Resort is a mountain retreat offering rental villas and plenty of activity. High Hampton Inn & Country Club, on the National Register of Historic Places, is the area's other full-service resort.

Popular historic country inns and several bed & breakfasts offer charm and comfort to guests. The choices are diverse, ranging from large inns steeped in history to small, intimate B&Bs. Wonderful breakfasts, cozy fireplaces and personal service from knowledgeable innkeepers make these rare treasures.

There are also a number of charming cottages and log cabins in Jackson County, along with motor lodges, national chain motels, and vacation home rentals. These accommodations include spectacular views; many include fireplaces and hot tubs.

Those seeking campgrounds have seven choices, from primitive tent camping to modern RV camping. Camping is also available in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park; and in some parts of the Nantahala National Forest. Call 1-800-365-CAMP for park information, and contact the Highlands District Ranger Station at 828-526-3765 for National Forest Information.
